Tuning the Feel

Use presets and Live Tuning to dial in steering, throttle and brake for each game.

SteerWave’s interface is currently in Simplified Chinese. Names below are translated, with the on-screen label in parentheses.

Start with a preset

On the setup screen, open Control Settings (控制设置) and tap the Preset (预设) row. Each preset covers steering, throttle and brake:

Preset Good for Character
Truck (卡车) ETS2, ATS Gentler, smoother steering
Rally (拉力) WRC, DiRT More lock, quicker response
Circuit (赛道) Assetto Corsa Linear steering, progressive brake
Easy (轻松) Forza Horizon, beginners Hold for full throttle and brake

With Switch presets by game (根据游戏自动切换预设) turned on, your phone switches to the matching preset when your PC recognizes the game. If you’re driving, it waits until you pause.

Once you change anything, the preset shows Modified (已修改); tap Restore (还原) to go back to the defaults. You can also create up to 8 presets of your own from the current settings.

Live Tuning

Open it from Control Settings → Live Tuning (试驾调整), or tap the gear next to the connection status on the driving screen. Nothing is sent to your game while you tune.

  • Real pedals sit on both sides with the response curve in the middle. A dot shows your input and what the game receives.
  • Drag the lower-left handle to set the start: how far your thumb moves before anything happens (for steering, the dead zone around center).
  • Drag the upper-right handle to set the limit: the most the game receives at full press. Setting the brake to 80–90% helps prevent lock-ups.
  • Choose one of three curves: linear, progressive or more progressive. More progressive means a slower build-up in the first half; full press is unchanged.
  • Drag the bar on top of a pedal to change how far you need to press. The default is about 3.2 cm.

Three pedal styles

Style How it works
Fixed position (固定位置) The bottom of the pedal is zero; the higher your thumb, the deeper the press. Closest to a real pedal
From where you press (从按下处开始) Wherever you touch down is zero; slide up for more, down for less
Hold for full (按住即踩满) Touch for full, lift to release. Great for arcade games

Steering too twitchy or too slow

  • Small movements feel twitchy (the truck keeps weaving in ETS2): pick the Truck preset, or switch the steering curve to more progressive. This calms the center without limiting full lock.
  • Full lock takes too much rotation: reduce the steering angle.
  • Steering is reversed: turn on Reverse Steering (反向转向) and recalibrate.

Keep the game’s own dead zone at 0 and its curve linear, otherwise its settings stack on top of the phone’s.
